Recipients
People who are looking for assistance will fill out a form at the Ask For Help page. This information goes into our database. Certain portions of the information are shown to givers who are searching for who to help, such as name, general location. We use contact forms to communicate -- no email.
Contact Forms
When you use our contact forms, we keep all information you provide as strictly private, except for sections that are clearly marked on the form as shareable information.
Cookies
When you login to Trusted Helping, we use a cookie to store your login details (so that you do not have to fill in your details when you visit subsequent pages.) These cookies will last for approx two weeks. Some parts of the site are password-protected. We use cookies (which reside on your computer and are under the control of your browser) to enable you to return to password-protected areas of the website without having to re-enter your password many times. If you wish to disable these cookies, this will mean you cannot login as our login process depends upon cookies. We do like to forward certain information as provided by givers or recipients to other media, to get the greatest exposure for you. If we get a submission from you, we will assume that you've read and agree to the Site Guidelines and that you give us permission to send the information out and that you are allowing reprinting based on creative commons terms.
We retain the right to publish your information and images you include in your submissions in collections in books or other websites.
How long we retain your data
If you leave any content, the content and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-ups. You do have the ability to delete all your submitted content, whenever you like.
What rights you have over your data
If you have become a submitter to Trusted Helping, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Under hopefully rare circumstances where we determine that submitters may be misusing our systems, such activities may be reported to law enforcement agencies. In such cases, Trusted Helping may release personally identifiable information, including name and address, to those agencies.
Monetary Donations

In order to better serve, we use cookies and periodically analyze web logs. We may also use third-party services such as Google Analytics. This helps us understand traffic patterns and know if there are problems with our website.
